About Natalie

Hi, I’m Natalie Mica, and I’ve been a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice for over 10 years. In my practice, I provide psychotherapy to individuals, groups, and couples and enjoy hosting workshops, retreats, and speaking engagements. I am a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator and Certified Anger Resolution Therapist™. I am also a functional holistic health coach who explores the reciprocal relationships between mental, physical, and spiritual health and healing. I help people restore their relationship with vulnerability, struggle, and pain and integrate the fullness and demands of their lives without sacrificing core values, losing their health, and ignoring their own heart.

I have always had a passion for companioning people, and in therapy, I get to live into this passion every day. It truly is an honor for me to be invited to journey with you on your path to wellness and personal transformation.

I believe in the inherent wholeness of a person, and that each person has the capacity to grow and heal. Often times, when life becomes difficult, clients have trouble accessing these strengths within them and various physical, emotional, and spiritual symptoms arise. The body is not separate from the mind, the emotions, or the spirit, and our physical health is often directly related to our mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. I believe the body is a prophet that uses symptoms whether pain, depression, grief, anxiety, eating disorders, addiction, dis-ease and illness, anger, ADHD, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transition issues, etc. to herald that something is amiss, inviting us to look further. Through curiosity and compassion in the therapeutic relationship, clients can go inward on a journey of self-discovery to reclaim their inner resilience and resources, gaining clarity, courage, and creativity for addressing life’s challenges.

I employ an integrated and holistic approach to psychological wellness. Personal growth and healing occur when clients better understand their interior life to make sense of their stories and experiences. In our therapeutic work together, you will gain personal insight and helpful tools to live with connection, courage, compassion, and authenticity with yourself and others. Therapy is a process. It unfolds. Insights arise. Growth occurs.

My work is existential, experiential, and trauma-informed. I work primarily using the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model of therapy, an evidence-based non-pathologizing  and integrative approach to psychotherapy. I also incorporate the tools of Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Brene´ Brown’s shame resilience theory, expressive arts therapy, the research of interpersonal neurobiology, Psychodynamic Theory, and functional medicine health principles.

I offer you my presence, my encouragement, and an open, nonjudgmental ear as a companion on the journey to find your whole heart and to open up new possibilities for your life.
